Lip Augmentation in Riverton, UT

Human beings are attracted to symmetry. When it comes to the human form, our lips are no exception. People often find full and symmetrical lips to be the most attractive, but such lips elude much of the population.

Fortunately, several aesthetic procedures can help those lacking naturally balanced lips. Some patients will only need non-invasive lip augmentation procedures, such as dermal fillers, to provide long-lasting and exquisite results with little to no downtime. For those seeking more permanent solutions, lip surgeries can also provide lasting benefits to asymmetrical lips.

Dr. Derrick Gale offers both surgical and non-surgical approaches to lip augmentation.

What is Lip Augmentation?

Lip augmentation refers to aesthetic interventions designed to change the lips’ shape, symmetry, contour, and appearance.

Plastic surgeons achieve this in several ways:

Fillers: One popular choice is to use dermal fillers to volumize the  .

Surgical: A more permanent approach is microsurgery to redefine the lips’ vermillion borders or lift them into a more approachable smile.

Lip augmentation in Utah can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other aesthetic procedures, such as a rhinoplasty, brow lift, or a liquid facelift, to fully restore your profile.

it may be helpful here to add some reasons as to why someone would choose dermal fillers. Listing some additional information about dermal fillers and surgical options would be great.

What can I Expect Before, During, and After my Lip Augmentation?

Before your lip augmentation, you can expect a thorough consultation with Dr. Gale. Here, you will clarify your expectations for the procedure. This is best done with photographs of celebrities or other people whose lips you would like to emulate.

It would be best if you began practicing healthy eating habits. Be sure to eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and protein to ensure your body is in optimum condition to recover from any procedure.

If your lip augmentation is through dermal fillers, Dr. Gale may apply a topical numbing agent at the beginning of your appointment to numb your lips and eliminate the needle’s sensation. Most patients don’t require this, though.

Dr. Gale will then inject the volumizing compound into your lips using a fine needle. This process will take only ten to twenty minutes, and you can walk straight out of the clinic and drive yourself away immediately afterward.

If you’ve chosen one of the surgical options (vermillion lip advancement or lip lift), your appointment will take approximately an hour and a half. Dr. Gale will use a local anesthetic to numb your lips while he performs the procedure.

You won’t need any downtime after injections, and you can return to your routine immediately.

However, you’ll need to spend several days recovering after a vermillion lip advancement or lip lift. You will need to keep your incisions clean and dry after your procedure. Dr. Gale will provide you with a comprehensive list of instructions to ensure your recovery is as comfortable and efficient as possible.
